Text Quotes
Every film you work on is different, and that’s part of what it’s like for anybody who works on a film, is to learn how to work with others. Learn from top to bottom. Actors have to learn how to work with the director and the director has to learn how to work with actors, and that’s not just those two departments  (Actors Quotes) You know, when you choose to make your living as an actor, it’s all fine and good to look at it as some kind of artistic endeavor. At its best, it is that. But the fact is, most of the actors out there don’t earn $3 million a picture and can’t afford to take two years off between films and look for the right thing. Most of us are tradesmen  (Actors Quotes) I’m one of the lucky actors in television. I don’t make a lot of big waves, but there’s constant activity, and that’s the way I prefer to live my life  (Actors Quotes) I can’t complain. I’m making a living out of what I do, which is really rare for a lot of actors. The hard part is staying confident and staying with it  (Actors Quotes) A lot of actors think they can’t be happy without the acting... But I think I couldn’t be happy with it anymore  (Actors Quotes) You know, I think a lot of times what happens when we as actors know we’re playing a bad guy is we get into bad guy mode. You know what, man? In real life, bad people do good things too and good people do bad things. So you don’t necessarily have to be the stereotypical bad guy to still do bad things  (Actors Quotes) I mean, I hate when actors talk about how hard their job is. It’s ridiculous, because we have the best job in the world  (Actors Quotes) If my kids decide to be actors and really, truly love it and are passionate about it, then I would definitely want to help them along their way, but it’s a tough business  (Actors Quotes) I’m very interested in silence. And, more importantly, in what happens when people aren’t talking on stage. I’m interested in letting actors play and do things between the lines. And in slowing everything down  (Actors Quotes) There are some actors that are so gifted, that move you in such a way that every time you see their names again, you go and pay another ticket because you want to have that experience again  (Actors Quotes) One of the things I love about directing is I love actors, because no matter how complex they are, once you get down to working and talking to them and the toughest guy will want you to open them up and he wants to show you stuff he was afraid to show anybody before  (Actors Quotes) I don’t think there’s a lot of actors out there right now who really know what they’re doing at all  (Actors Quotes) I’m not that comfortable with actors receiving honours, partly because I think they ought to go to those who really help others  (Actors Quotes) I love stage actors. There’s something special about all people who have to do a performance eight shows a week, and musical people, especially, are so much fun  (Actors Quotes) I continue to be very shy. I think a lot of actors and performers are really weird, shy people working it out onstage. I don’t know why that is  (Actors Quotes) I really like being thrown into the works. Many actors, I have found, have this as a common trait. We had to, as children, adapt to various situations with either a military family or things like that  (Actors Quotes) I used to be very controlling with visuals and editing, and I would pretty much craft the performances; now I have learned to trust the material and the actors  (Actors Quotes) Someone once told me that the most dynamic actors are people who have stories. People who have lived life. People with experiences  (Actors Quotes) If actors could actually make a living doing theater, that would be my first choice. Sitcoms are the closest thing to being onstage in front of an audience  (Actors Quotes) Everybody works in a different way, and I’ve worked with actors that have no training whatsoever who are phenomenal  (Actors Quotes) Many actors have protested about mobile phones going off in theatres, but the real menace now is people texting during a show. It may only disturb a few people around them, but for me, as an actor, when I spot them answering their emails, I am outraged  (Actors Quotes) Why do I use the same actors in different movies? One of the things I really stress in casting is I need to find someone who is suitable for the role in the movie. That’s always the main reason  (Actors Quotes) There are dedicated actors and there are people now who only stay famous for putting on weight, losing it, then putting it on again  (Actors Quotes) I think if actors are successful at one thing, they paint themselves into a corner sometimes, and what’s the fun in that?  (Actors Quotes) I love working with the same actors repeatedly. That happens a lot. It’s kind of inevitable, especially if you work with the same writers and directors and you start to form a company of actors. You gravitate towards each other  (Actors Quotes) I think a lot of great male comic actors are introspective, quiet personalities, which I really admire. But they are really able to turn it up when the camera’s on  (Actors Quotes) I think actors always have that fear of unemployment so when the opportunities are there, you just jump on them  (Actors Quotes) There tends to be this hierarchy of film and television, and theater is somewhere else in its own milieu. However, as actors, yes, we love to do theater because it’s our story. Nobody can edit it, the curtain goes up, and it’s ours for two hours or three, or whatever. And we tell it  (Actors Quotes) You’re out there on a high wire without a net, and that’s the way actors operate. They have to be fearless about how they work and they have to create a life for the audience in 90 minutes and make them believe  (Actors Quotes) I know so many amazing actors who don’t get work... and then there are a bunch of real duds that work all the time. The industry is just not fair in that way  (Actors Quotes)
