Text Quotes
I try to be careful about wording. One of the things I’ve tried to combat in my blog is the notion that journalists are arrogant and unconcerned with the readership  (Blog Quotes) The other day I was reading a blog and I linked over to Streisand’s Web site, and it was amazing politically. She’s so insightful and incisive. And she also says whatever she wants  (Blog Quotes) I think the anti-intellectualism of a lot of contemporary fiction is a kind of despairing of literature’s ability to be anything more than perfectly bound blog posts or transcribed sitcoms  (Blog Quotes) I continued blogging, but between illness and deadlines, did not manage to blog nearly as much as last year. I’m hoping to do better in 2016  (Blog Quotes) Turning the blog into a book was extremely difficult, a tremendous amount of sustained, hard work. Blogging is easy; writing a book is difficult  (Blog Quotes) Although the point of blogging is that it doesn’t pay, I often steal from my blog for paid publication. I’ve based several magazine essays on blog posts, as well as an entire book  (Blog Quotes) Hillary Clinton is under fire from Latinos, specifically online. This comes from a recent blog post by Clinton’s campaign that was meant to reach out to Latinos. Instead, it offended many people  (Blog Quotes) I think a blog to live really has to be probably four or five times a day  (Blog Quotes) I’m not going to sit around an pretend I’m not thinking things on my blog when I am thinking them and when I’m open to rebuttal  (Blog Quotes) Another benefit is that the more I blog, the more I maintain and develop a first-person voice, which translates into a much greater ease with writing personal essays  (Blog Quotes) I worry about what my kids see online especially if it’s my complaints about them on my mommy blog  (Blog Quotes) It’s incorrect to assume you can be a fashion editor because you blog, if you don’t have experience to look at fashion in a professional way  (Blog Quotes) It’s called ‘I Wanna Thank You,’ and I’m encouraging everybody out there to blog, Tweet, Facebook, anything about it. Let’s sign a petition. The petition is called ‘Busta Rhymes Make ‘I Wanna Thank You’ Your First Single.’  (Blog Quotes) I had a blog where I tried to be transparent while giving away nothing. I tweeted and Facebooked badly. As a writer, your ‘voice’ is your calling card, yet my voice was becoming indistinguishable from billions of other voices  (Blog Quotes) Starting the blog was a way for me to generate this nonfiction first-person voice naturally, gradually, without feeling performance anxiety. It felt a bit like keeping journals when I was younger, but connecting to an instant readership without having to wait for publication made it also immediately satisfying  (Blog Quotes) If you’re into writing and making people laugh, or just want to video blog something, you should get a simple digital video camera. And all computers now come with an easy video editing software program. Just mess around with that for a little bit, try to figure it out, then just put stuff online and have fun. Never give up!  (Blog Quotes) What the Internet’s value is that you have access to information but you also have access to every lunatic that’s out there that wants to throw up a blog  (Blog Quotes) People used to ask me questions on my blog about how to break into the acting industry. You often have to start out in parts where you have very few words, but you still have to try to make an impact  (Blog Quotes) My blog is a celebration of the unexpected, settled, happy life I find myself living in Portland, Maine, at the ripe old age of fifty with someone I deeply love and am very happy with. That’s part of why I started the blog.  (Blog Quotes) I’m always amazed by people who blog all the time and tweet all the time, and still get things done. I don’t know how they do it.  (Blog Quotes) Being behind the lens gives me a completely different perspective, and because of my blog, I get to do projects and attend shows lending me another angle.  (Blog Quotes) An ignorant person with a bad character is like an unarmed robber, but a learned person with a blog is a robber fully armed.  (Blog Quotes) Now, for my younger viewers out there, a book is something we used to have before the internet. It’s sort of a blog for people with attention spans.  (Blog Quotes) The original idea of blog publishing was that writer and reader would be on the same level. That it would be a conversation - not a lecture. People lost sight of that. We didn’t. Kinja is designed to break down the walls of the ghettos. So that everybody - editor, writer, source, subject, expert, fan - can be a contributor.  (Blog Quotes) I have found, writing a blog, that being non-opaque is necessary. You pretty much have to say what you know in much more firm terms or risk that the legions who always know more than you do will tell the story better.  (Blog Quotes) Here is what I am not going to do: I am not going to go to a restaurant, take pictures of my food, download them, and call that a blog. That is beyond the pale. The Internet is such a bazaar of self-indulgences that I don’t know why that particular one should bug me so much. But it really does.  (Blog Quotes) When I was first writing ‘Feed’ - which was the first book I published as Mira - I talked about it very openly on my blog, on Twitter, that I was writing this book, and it wasn’t until after it was sold that I said ‘Mira Grant’ wrote this book. And the reason there was really purely marketing-based.  (Blog Quotes) Quit counting fans, followers and blog subscribers like bottle caps. Think, instead, about what you’re hoping to achieve with and through the community that actually cares about what you’re doing.  (Blog Quotes) Some people have a blog that’s, like, ‘Today I brushed my teeth.’ Well, who cares? Who cares that you brushed your teeth. Okay - you brushed your teeth! That’s so massively egocentric, it’s just ridiculous.  (Blog Quotes) Today you can start a blog, build an audience, and give the advertising slots to AdBrite or Google AdSense.  (Blog Quotes)
