Text Quotes
When I had a record deal in the 90s, that was my dream - to make an album like Barbra Streisand’s Broadway album - and they laughed me out of the room. Broadway wasn’t cool. But artists like Michael Buble and Josh Groban have brought the classic genre back to the forefront, so I’m trying to find my way inside that market.  (Broadway Quotes) When I wasn’t working on Broadway, I worked in a Bat Mitzvah dress shop and was the Cinderella of the shop - always cleaning and vacuuming!  (Broadway Quotes) Somewhere during the ‘Next to Normal’ Broadway run, I found myself learning more about myself onstage than in real life, and I truly realized the beautiful, tremendous, extraordinary gift that is performing.  (Broadway Quotes) Maybe I’m old-fashioned. But I remember the beauty and thrill of being moved by Broadway musicals - particularly the endings of shows.  (Broadway Quotes) When I saw my first Broadway show, ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ I was like, ‘Okay, I’m definitely gonna do this.’ After that, I did little shows and started auditioning.  (Broadway Quotes) I saw my first two Broadway shows when I was 4 years old, ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ and after both of them I came home and reenacted the entirety of the shows on my living room table for my family and friends. I started doing that after every show I saw until I actually did my first youth production when I was 5.  (Broadway Quotes) I feel like being on Broadway will convince my mother that my theater degree was worth it  (Broadway Quotes) Being in front of a live audience again. I get that in my concerts but there’s nothing like being on Broadway.  (Broadway Quotes) Broadway is another monster. I’ve been touring since I was 12 years old and I love being on the road - one day you’re here, next day it’s snowing, and the next you are in a desert and it’s 110 degrees. So I guess I’m kind of used to the madness physically that you go to when you are an entertainer. But it’s been great.  (Broadway Quotes) Being away from home was tough, but the challenge and the thrill of being on Broadway was so fulfilling, and I’m thankful to my husband for making it possible and holding it down at home.  (Broadway Quotes) It’s always been a dream of mine to be Ginger Rogers or Cyd Charisse, and here I am performing alongside Robert Lindsay and being directed by a major Broadway producer. Who said dreams don’t come true?  (Broadway Quotes) I could make thousands of dollars in Broadway musicals, but among the best experiences I had was doing ‘Hamlet’ in Milwaukee and a version of ‘Cyrano’ that my wife wrote for me on a bus-and-truck tour.  (Broadway Quotes) Through the early 1930s, Barbara Stanwyck established her reputation in a field overflowing with other young Broadway starlets: Bette Davis, Miriam Hopkins, Katharine Hepburn, Claudette Colbert, Joan Blondell. Barbara was lower-keyed and less mannered than Davis and Hepburn; less glamorous than Colbert. She was real, and she also proved to be the personification of no-nonsense professionalism, making her popular with directors and coworkers alike.  (Broadway Quotes) I like pop, rock n’ roll, big band, Broadway - I like all those elements  (Broadway Quotes) It’s a very big collaborative effort to do an animated feature and to do a Broadway show  (Broadway Quotes) The producers and I first talked about the Big Fish musical, right before we did the first test screening of the movie. I said, I think there’s a Broadway musical here. And really, from that day, we started figuring out how we would do it.  (Broadway Quotes) Like Frankenweenie is a story about a boy and his dog, Big Fish is the story of a father and his son, and all those conversations you can’t have. It’s universal, in a way that can go from one medium to another medium. That’s been the funnest, figuring out what we can do in a Broadway show that’s unique and special.  (Broadway Quotes) My new play ‘Chinglish,’ which will go to Broadway, is about a white American businessman who goes to a provincial capital in China, hoping to make a deal there. It’s bilingual. And it’s about trying to communicate across language and cultural barriers.  (Broadway Quotes) I had opera training for three years, and I have three albums out. I also did a Broadway show. I’m an actor that sings, so it is in my blood. It is in my system.  (Broadway Quotes) I understand people who boo us. It’s like going to Broadway show, you pay for your tickets and expect to be entertained. When you’re not, you have a right to complain.  (Broadway Quotes) Better a square foot of New York than all the rest of the world in a lump - better a lamppost on Broadway than the brightest star in the sky.  (Broadway Quotes) The only stuff I don’t like are Broadway musicals. I hate them. I don’t even like to talk about it. I can’t bear musicals.  (Broadway Quotes) I was always drawn to Broadway musicals, and obviously composers like Gershwin, Rodgers, Berlin and Porter were writing music that I found wildly impressive.  (Broadway Quotes) Hit songs did not come out of musicals. Pop-rock was creating the hits. There were very few songs that made the charts out of any Broadway musical.  (Broadway Quotes) I was a weird kid. I shouldve been gay because I listened to a lot of Broadway musicals. I don’t know why I’m not gay. I listen to a lot of jazz and world music, like African or Cuban music. Something that has vitality to it. A lot of the American stuff just feeds on itself.  (Broadway Quotes) It’s always been a dream of mine to do a voice for a Disney movie. I think Disney movies and theater are very closely related. That would be amazing. I don’t know about doing a Broadway musical, just because I don’t really know how people do it. You just work all the time. That’s something that I would definitely have to work up to.  (Broadway Quotes) I so miss musical theater. Secretly, I’m in awe of Broadway performers.  (Broadway Quotes) What about Broadway? Yes, I’m involved with a new musical based on ‘The Adams Family.’  (Broadway Quotes) Without a doubt, I’d love to do Broadway. I actually can’t wait to get back to musical theater.  (Broadway Quotes) I played Tina Denmark in Ruthless the Musical when I was 9 at the Theatre on Broadway in Denver  (Broadway Quotes)
