Text Quotes
When I was a kid, I used to send away for those ventriloquist kits on the back of comic books  (Comic Quotes) It was mostly through pop culture, through hip-hop, through Dungeons and Dragons and comic books that I acquired much of my vocabulary.  (Comic Quotes) I came to one of the first Comic Cons in 1985, when it was just people trading back issues of comic books.  (Comic Quotes) I have to read comic books all first, because now when you get into graphic novels, they are definitely in deep graphic.  (Comic Quotes) Superman was my first comic back in the 50s; that was me under the bedspread with the flashlight reading comic books.  (Comic Quotes) I grew up reading not-serious literature, like comic books and pulp novels, so my instinct is to amuse the reader and entertain.  (Comic Quotes) I’ve always had a soft spot for comic books. I learned to read from them. The words in them were so interesting.  (Comic Quotes) We can’t really make a living doing comic books, despite the fact that would be an awfully fun way to make a living.  (Comic Quotes) I really don’t have a lot in common with the people who attend the Comic Con. It’s like assuming that all people who write prose are the same.  (Comic Quotes) I found that the majority of people who stopped at my table [ at the Comic Con] last didn’t even know who Winnie the Pooh was, and the new feature was just opening in the theaters.  (Comic Quotes) I understand the people-watching, but I’ve never done it where people have to race to three different shows, from here to there. I mean, the biggest zoo I ever faced was Comic Con, and Comic Con takes place in one big hangar.  (Comic Quotes) I think musical theater fans - obsessive fans - are very much like Comic Con fans in our personalities. We’re very possessive, and we’re very obsessive, and we’re very critical. So don’t screw with our stuff.  (Comic Quotes) I can go to a movie theater and watch a movie I was in with an audience... but with television, the opportunity to meet the fans at Comic Con or any other situation, it’s a chance to enter that circle; it’s that sharing.  (Comic Quotes) It’s interesting to me; you do four, five or six of these Comic Cons or things like that across the country a year. Obviously, I get busted a lot of ‘Weekend at Bernies,’ but the fans for horror movies are so wonderful and so loyal.  (Comic Quotes) Watchmen’ is not only the greatest comic ever written, it’s a really important work of fiction.  (Comic Quotes) I didn’t read comic books, growing up. I was more of a science fiction/fantasy novel guy. I loved reading Edgar Rice Burroughs’ ‘Tarzan’ and that kind of stuff.  (Comic Quotes) I grew up reading comic books, pulp books, mystery and science fiction and fantasy. I’m a geek; I make no pretensions otherwise. It’s the stuff that I love writing about. I like creating worlds.  (Comic Quotes) I vividly remember my first ‘Superman’ comic, which my granddad bought me when I was about 7. From that point on, all I wanted to do is draw comics. And specifically, superhero and science fiction comics. Basically I used to copy comic books, and draw my own comics on scrap paper.  (Comic Quotes) If you record the world honestly, there’s no way people can stop being funny. A lot of fiction writing doesn’t get that idea, as if to acknowledge it would trivialize the story or trivialize human nature, when in fact human nature is reduced and falsified if the comic aspects are not included.  (Comic Quotes) Why not take a science fiction comic and put the characters in a small town to gain their particular perspective? A lot of that comes from me growing up in a small town on a farm, so that’s what I know and what I’m comfortable with. My drawing style is also very sparse and minimalist, so a rural setting complements that.  (Comic Quotes) When I did Comic Relief, I did it to be on the show; it’s a badge of honor as a comedian to do that show.  (Comic Quotes) The thing I thought about doing it was it’s Comic Relief and you’ve got to be funny. So although I did try to sing properly it obviously has hilarious results when you can’t sing.  (Comic Quotes) My show is constantly evolving... new tricks are added, old ones are dropped... so it stays fresh. But it’s the randomly selected participants from the audience that make it fresh and provide some of the best comic relief.  (Comic Quotes) Once upon a time, they thought I was a sweet, wide-eyed boy that was just trying to figure out how to kiss the girl. Lots of comic relief and adolescent yearnings.  (Comic Quotes) I think on ‘Third Watch’ that I was the comic relief on a lot of that. I mean, I definitely had dark moments, but people tended to think he was funny even if the character himself wasn’t having a fun time.  (Comic Quotes) We’re kind of the comic relief of this movie because most of the stories are very dark. And that’s why these plays were so great, because it’s such a dark, dark universe that it becomes funny because it’s just too pathetic.  (Comic Quotes) To get syndicated as a comic strip artist is as likely as winning the lottery  (Comic Quotes) Most films are rooted in a book or a comic strip, but I don’t go out there saying I want to do adaptations.  (Comic Quotes) For a long time, I was under the impression that ‘Terry and the Pirates’ was the best comic strip in the United States.  (Comic Quotes) The key to any good comic strip or television sitcom is to reset the board at the end of the episode because people like familiarity.  (Comic Quotes)
