Freedom is the will to be responsible for ourselves

Friedrich Nietzsche, a German philosopher known for his radical ideas on morality, religion, and human nature, believed that true freedom comes from taking responsibility for oneself. In his work "Beyond Good and Evil," Nietzsche famously declared, "He who cannot obey himself will be commanded. That is the nature of living creatures." This statement underscores Nietzsche's belief that true freedom comes from mastering oneself, from cultivating the willpower and discipline to shape our own destinies.
