God's servant is something; god's slave is greater

Sri Aurobindo, a renowned spiritual leader and philosopher, believed in the concept of surrendering oneself completely to the divine will. He often spoke about the difference between being a servant of God and being a slave of God, emphasizing that the latter was a higher state of spiritual attainment.

In Sri Aurobindo's teachings, being a servant of God implies a sense of duty and obedience to the divine will. A servant follows the instructions and guidance of God, but may still retain a sense of individuality and ego. On the other hand, being a slave of God involves complete surrender and submission to the divine will, without any sense of personal will or desire. Sri Aurobindo believed that true spiritual growth and transformation could only occur when one reached the state of being a slave of God. He believed that true freedom and liberation could only be achieved through complete surrender to the divine will.
