Great people do things before they're ready. They do things before they know they can do it
Amy Poehler is a prime example of someone who embodies the idea that great people do things before they're ready. Throughout her career, Poehler has consistently taken risks and pushed herself outside of her comfort zone, often diving headfirst into new projects without knowing for sure if she could succeed. This fearless approach to her work has not only led to her own personal growth and success but has also inspired countless others to do the same. One of the most notable examples of Poehler's willingness to take on new challenges before she felt fully prepared was when she co-founded the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) in 1990. At the time, Poehler was a struggling comedian trying to make a name for herself in the competitive world of improv comedy. Despite her lack of experience in running a business or managing a theater, Poehler and her fellow UCB members took a leap of faith and opened their own theater in New York City.
The UCB quickly became a hub for up-and-coming comedians and performers, launching the careers of many now-famous actors and comedians. Poehler's willingness to take a risk and pursue her passion for comedy, even when she wasn't sure if she was ready, ultimately paid off in a big way.
