Some of the greatest values that have influenced me through the years are those that I learned as a boy growing up on the farm. I remember mostly the love in our family, but I also remember the discipline. Then there was the work; we all had to work.  (Growing Quotes) When I was a little kid growing up in Iceland, I always dreamed about creating something that could have an impact on the whole world, and even as a young boy I was passionate about fitness and sports.  (Growing Quotes) I was so poor growing up...if I wasn’t a boy...I’d have nothing to play with.  (Growing Quotes) Football is entertainment in which the audience is expected to delight in gladiatorial action that a growing portion of the audience knows may cause the players degenerative brain disease.  (Growing Quotes) Growing up in a family of doctors, I wanted to be a brain surgeon for a while. But ultimately, I get most excited about creating things, which is why I decided to become an entrepreneur.  (Growing Quotes) So many things in the world have happened before. But it’s like they never did. Every new thing that happens to a person, it’s a first... In that night I felt expansion, as if the world was branching out in shoots and growing faster than the eye could see. I felt smallness, how the earth divided into bits and kept dividing. I felt stars.  (Growing Quotes) Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world. The forms may change, yet the essence remains the same. Every wonderful sight will vanish, every sweet word will fade, But do not be disheartened, The source they come from is eternal, growing, Branching out, giving new life and new joy. Why do you weep? The source is within you And this whole world is springing up from it.  (Growing Quotes) My favorite actor was, is, Michael Keaton. Certainly growing up, in the movie ‘Night Shift’ he did something brand new that I hadn’t seen before that we all steal from now. And then it was in 1987 he did the movie ‘Clean and Sober’ and ‘Beetlejuice’ in the same year, and that was when I said, ‘Wow, that’s what I want to do.’  (Growing Quotes) Growing up on a set is completely different than coming onto a brand new set for the first time  (Growing Quotes) The challenges get harder as life gets going. But the brave heart says, challenges gets easier when faith is growing.  (Growing Quotes) If you want to grow a giant redwood, you need to make sure the seeds are ok, nurture the sapling, and work out what might potentially stop it from growing all the way along. Anything that breaks it at any point stops that growth.  (Growing Quotes) Building new roads and bridges creates jobs. Growing our exports creates jobs. Reforming our outdated tax system and our broken immigration system creates jobs.  (Growing Quotes) I thought highly of myself growing up. I still do. There’s not really much somebody can say to me to bring down my confidence or anything.  (Growing Quotes) When I was growing up, I despised Irishness. I felt our music, our television and our books were just poor imitations of what came out of Britain and America. I was all set to abandon it entirely.  (Growing Quotes) I didn’t know growing up what I wanted to do. I finally settled on broadcast journalism as a way to satisfy the urge to perform and also do something important, which is to give people in a democracy information to make good decisions.  (Growing Quotes) When I was growing up, there was no such thing as Off-Broadway. You either got your show on or you didn’t.  (Growing Quotes) What’s that line from TS Eliot? To arrive at the place where you started, but to know it for the first time. I’m able to write about a breakup from a different place. Same brokenness. Same rock-bottom. But a little more informed, now I’m older. Thank God for growing up.  (Growing Quotes) A broken heart is just the growing pains necessary so that you can love more completely when the real thing comes along.  (Growing Quotes) I hate when people think you’re broken because your parents are divorced. And I really reject the idea of staying together for the kids. If they’re growing up in a house that’s not healthy, it’s better to know that’s not the model of what marriage should be.  (Growing Quotes) The reality of growing up is we changed schools so many times, my brother was my best friend. We have a five-year age gap, and my brother inspired me. He started boxing, and I just want to show that I could do things better than him.  (Growing Quotes) One of my favorites is one called ‘Rory’s Radio’ that I wrote about my brother Jeff’s best friend growing up - his name was Rory Dunigan. I dedicated my first record to my brother, who got killed in a car accident in 1999, and I really didn’t have any songs on the first album about him, nothing on a personal note.  (Growing Quotes) As a brother and sister, our tastes were pretty different growing up. He liked a lot of early hip hop. My dad didn’t understand it and would try to talk him out of it.  (Growing Quotes) I write for kids because I think the most interesting (and most humorous) stories come from people’s childhoods. When I was writing ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid,’ I had a blast talking on the phone to my younger brother, Patrick, remembering all of the things that happened to our family when we were growing up.  (Growing Quotes) My parents were funny. My brothers were funny. We just laughed and had a good time. Growing up, it breeds that. It breeds your funny. It breeds your creativity.  (Growing Quotes) My brother and I had a lot of freedom growing up, and thankfully, we both turned out OK  (Growing Quotes) Growing up, I loved drama and fantasies. I hated the Marx Brothers. I took all that confusion seriously.  (Growing Quotes) I’d pull my little brother on our motorcycle on an inner tube behind it. We would go fishing, we would hunt some, growing up.  (Growing Quotes) Growing up in San Diego, I can remember going with my brother to see bands like Pennywise and NOFX - good punk bands that were fast and tight.  (Growing Quotes) I started with golf because I saw my brothers play, I was always watching them. It was my life. Growing up, we always played competitions like chipping, hitting.  (Growing Quotes) Music was in the air when I was growing up. My siblings Katy, Dave and Phil were musical; my dad worked in inner-city New York where a musical revolution was taking place - folk music, rock n’ roll, gospel music. My sister taught me to sing. My brothers taught me to play.  (Growing Quotes)
