Text Quotes
There are epic downsides to living a somewhat public life. The upshot of that is there’s nothing to hide. It’s a relief in a way. There’s nothing about me that can’t be said  (Hide Quotes) We all have a face that we hide away forever, and we take them out and show ourselves when everyone has gone  (Hide Quotes) Because I tend to kind of hide under the sheets when it comes to reality television. I’ve seen probably one episode of maybe five different shows, and that’s about it  (Hide Quotes) We fret about words, we writers. Words mean. Words point. They are arrows. Arrows stuck in the rough hide of reality. And the more portentous, more general the word, the more they can also resemble rooms or tunnels. They can expand, or cave in. They can come to be filled with a bad smell. They will often remind us of other rooms, where we’d rather dwell or where we think we are already living. They can be spaces we lose the art or the wisdom of inhabiting. And eventually those volumes of mental intention we no longer know how to inhabit will be abandoned, boarded up, closed down  (Hide Quotes) I will not promise what I cannot deliver. And I will never hide the cost of what I propose  (Hide Quotes) You get hit the hardest when trying to run or hide from a problem. Like the defense on a football field, putting all focus on evading only one defender is asking to be blindsided  (Hide Quotes) Never hide things from hardcore thinkers. They get more aggravated, more provoked by confusion than the most painful truths  (Hide Quotes) If you are a lighthouse, you cannot hide yourself; if you hide yourself, you cannot be a lighthouse!  (Hide Quotes) In high school, I had to hide my comic book side, my nerd side from the civilian world so they wouldn’t categorize me. They would try to marginalize me for what I like. I tried to give it up, believe me. I tried to kick the habit. But there’s too much I liked about it to give it up completely  (Hide Quotes) I never wanted to sing. I just wanted to play rhythm guitar – hide in the back and just play. But during those high school years when I was playing guitar in my bedroom, I at least had the intuition that I had to write my own songs  (Hide Quotes) Some cameras are heavier and need to be on tripods. Others are small enough to hide in your pocket. There are places where you don’t want to feel like you are disturbing anything, so I may use a camera like that  (Hide Quotes) True love is not a hide and seek game: in true love, both lovers seek each other  (Hide Quotes) You could carve out the inside of a brick and hide your money in it for safe keeping. It’s certainly safer than keeping it in the bank!  (Hide Quotes) Identify what all the issues are and when you find them don’t hide from them  (Hide Quotes) I have to phrase this perfectly: I’m just not convinced that the attention we give to creating what we think of as a character isn’t actually quite often the means by which an actor overcomes his own terror of standing there onstage and creating a mask to hide behind  (Hide Quotes) Our parents don’t know us... They can’t know us. We hide ourselves from them. Once they knew everything about us and in order to escape them we keep out secrets, our private selves  (Hide Quotes) The universe will put signposts in your life. You can either ignore them or embrace them. You can choose and wish for all the things you want, but the things that are coming to you, you will never be able to hide from and the things that you want so bad that are not supposed to be for you for whatever reason, they’ll never come to you  (Hide Quotes) I’m not single, I’m just wait for my girlfriend to quit playing hide and seek  (Hide Quotes) Sometimes I write, but once it’s done, I usually find my writing to be so bad that I hide it somewhere and never look at it again  (Hide Quotes) And if you have a law that isn’t working, and you have thousands and thousands and millions of people, then the terrorists hide among them. And we have to have a law that makes sense  (Hide Quotes) You cannot hide any secret. If the artist succor his flagging spirits by opium or wine, his work will characterize itself as the effect of opium or wine. If you make a picture or a statue, it sets the beholder in that state of mind you had when you made it. If you spend for show, on building, or gardening, or on pictures, or on equipages, it will so appear. We are all physiognomists and penetrators of character, and things themselves are detective  (Hide Quotes) There is no permanent place in this universe for evil... Evil may hide behind this fallacy and that, but it will be hunted from fallacy to fallacy until there is no more fallacy for it to hide behind  (Hide Quotes) I got some very good advice once. That was: You’re not talking to a reporter, you’re talking to the public. We didn’t hide things. They are a little more guarded now  (Hide Quotes) In sharp contrasts to traditional art, modern art does not hide the fact that it is something made and produced: on the contrary, it underscores the fact  (Hide Quotes) What is dangerous is not minarets, but basements and garages that hide clandestine places of worship. Thus we must choose between mosques, where we know that the rules of the republic are respected, and secret places where extremism has been developing for too long,  (Hide Quotes) Peacock bass like to hide at ambush points, away from the strong canal currents. If you fish early and know those peacock hangouts, you will have little or no trouble catching peacocks on lures and live bait  (Hide Quotes) Winning isn’t everything to me, but it’s a close second. Losing isn’t something that I can just brush off and fake a smile to hide my frustration. It’s that will and determination that I hope will get me where I want to go  (Hide Quotes) I paint to understand my world and my place in it. I paint to pray, to curse, to sort, to number, to structure, to destructure, to bleed, to preserve, to recognize, to see, to hide, to show, to tell, to think, to stop thinking, to detest, to love, to act, to be still, to laugh, to cry, to detest, but mostly to love for now I am human, but in a few short years I will be something else  (Hide Quotes) Surfaces reveal so much. The marks painters make reveal so much about their work and themselves; their sense of proportion, line, and rhythm is more telling than their signature. Looking at the surfaces of nature may offer equivalent revelations. What do these shapes and patterns reveal about the world and their creator? Surfaces hide so much  (Hide Quotes) The questioning spirit is the rebellious spirit. A rebellion is always either a cloak to hide a prince, or the swaddling wrapper of a new rule  (Hide Quotes)
