History shows that when the church accommodates culture, it weakens it

Rick Warren, the influential pastor and author of the best-selling book "The Purpose Driven Life," has been a prominent figure in the evangelical Christian community for decades. Known for his emphasis on reaching out to the broader culture and engaging with contemporary issues, Warren has often been criticized for what some see as a tendency to accommodate cultural trends at the expense of traditional Christian values.

Similarly, in more recent times, the rise of liberal theology in the 19th and 20th centuries has been seen by many as a cautionary tale of the dangers of accommodating culture at the expense of biblical truth. As theologians sought to make Christianity more acceptable to the modern world by downplaying doctrines like the virgin birth, the resurrection, and the atonement, the church's influence and credibility suffered.
