My three year old daughter said she needed raisins
As a parent, there are certain moments that catch you completely off guard. One such moment happened to me recently when my three-year-old daughter came running up to me and said, "Mommy, I need raisins!" Now, normally this wouldn't be a cause for concern. After all, raisins are a common snack for kids. However, the context in which she said it left me completely baffled. We were in the middle of potty training my daughter, and she had just sat down on the toilet when she made her unusual request. I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. Here I was, trying to teach my daughter how to use the toilet like a big girl, and she was asking for raisins of all things.
I quickly realized that my daughter was trying to tell me that she needed to go number two. It was her cute and innocent way of communicating her bodily needs. I couldn't help but be impressed by her creativity in finding a way to express herself.
I quickly grabbed a small box of raisins from the pantry and handed it to her. She happily took a few and sat back down on the toilet. As she did her business, I couldn't help but marvel at how quickly she was picking up on the whole potty training process.
After she was done, she proudly announced, "I did it, Mommy!" I couldn't have been prouder of her. It was a small victory, but a victory nonetheless. And all it took was a simple request for raisins to make it happen.
