Text Quotes
Over the years, I have realized that there’s more to a film’s fate than just good acting and a solid script. It needs to be marketed well. It’s the package that sells - the songs, action, actors, etc.  (Script Quotes) I like to rehearse with the actors scenes that are not in the script and will not be in the film because what we’re really doing is trying to establish their character, and good acting to me is about reacting.  (Script Quotes) If you have a good script, that’s what gets you involved. It’s harder to write a good screenplay than to find something.  (Script Quotes) If I put the script down more than once, there’s a good chance that I probably don’t want to play the part.  (Script Quotes) There is no such thing as a good script, onlya good film, and I’m conscious that my scripts often read better than they play.  (Script Quotes) More often than not, if you’ve got a good director and a good script you can’t really go wrong.  (Script Quotes) It’s always the script first choosing roles. [Then] whoever else is attached. I never like to be the first person attached, because I don’t really trust what’s going on, unless there’s a really good director.  (Script Quotes) It’s possible for me to make a bad movie out of a good script, but I can’t make a good movie from a bad script.  (Script Quotes) A script is just a script. A good script can be a bad movie, so easily. It’s the process that makes it good. You need a good script, don’t get me wrong, but you need all those other things to make a good movie. You really do.  (Script Quotes) Promoting a stock is like making a movie. You’ve got to have stars, props, and a good script.  (Script Quotes) If making movies was easier, there’d be a lot more good movies. So you kind of learn that if it’s just a good script, or if it’s just a good producer, that’s not always enough. You need an entire team of creative people coming together.  (Script Quotes) When good things come in, my agent calls or sends me the script. But I allow them to sort through the offers so that I am not just sitting and reading everything because honestly, sometimes the scripts that appeal to me are projects that are not good projects, but I just really like the script or the characters.  (Script Quotes) I am not just sitting and reading everything because honestly sometimes the scripts that appeal to me are projects that are not good projects, but I just really like the script or the characters.  (Script Quotes) Well, there’s no question that a good script is an absolutely essential, maybe the essential thing for a movie.  (Script Quotes) We thought we’d write a good script for women, giving them the fun roles that generally men get.  (Script Quotes) If it’s a good script I’ll do it. And if it’s a bad script, and they pay me enough, I’ll do it.  (Script Quotes) With a terrible script you hustle and try to make it better. But with a good script it can be trouble because you rest on your laurels, so to speak, you think it’s going to translate easily.  (Script Quotes) Not all offers I get are exciting and inspiring. I would rather sit at home and not work than jump into mediocrity for the sake of just moving ahead. If it’s a good script, I would sacrifice my personal time and grab it.  (Script Quotes) My friends, we all improvise together usually. So we write what I think is a good script but always leave a lot of room to find stuff on the day; and we always do find something. That’s the advantage to having actors who are, in their own right, writers.  (Script Quotes) I love to be creative and to put flesh onto the ideas that are inside of me. And there are not that many great programs that are coming out through Hollywood, and I’m tired of waiting around for someone to hand me a good script, so I’m going to go and produce something.  (Script Quotes) I am very into lyrics. I start with what the words are saying, what the storyline is saying, like a good script. It should really capture me, do something for me. If I don’t get it, it’s not going to move people, and if it’s not going to move people, it’s not going to happen.  (Script Quotes) The script comes first. If that isn’t good enough, you know it’s gonna be a long ride.  (Script Quotes) As an actor, it doesn’t happen often that somebody sends you a script that is first of all that good.  (Script Quotes) Writing a great script - not just a good one, but a great one - is almost an impossible task  (Script Quotes) In a good script, it’s really like a treasure map. You just focus on that, all the answers are pretty much in it.  (Script Quotes) You just have to go with a good story and a script that you like and people that you like to work with.  (Script Quotes) You can have a million dollar, 20 million dollar budget or 60 million dollar budget, and if you don’t have a good script, it doesn’t mean a thing.  (Script Quotes) Richard Jenkins read the script [The Hollars] and really liked it, but he said, ‘If you can get Margo Martindale, I’ll do it. Otherwise, good luck.  (Script Quotes) A horrible script 99 percent of the time means a horrible movie. But if you start with a good script, odds are you’re going to have a good movie.  (Script Quotes) I think everyone needs to try their first script, and usually the first one isn’t as good. You learn so much as you’re trying to figure it out.  (Script Quotes)
