Singing is as much an act of worship as is prayer

Ellen G. White, a prominent religious leader and co-founder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, believed that singing is as much an act of worship as prayer. Throughout her writings and teachings, White emphasized the importance of music in worship and its ability to uplift the soul and connect individuals with God.

White often spoke about the power of music to inspire and elevate the spirit. She believed that singing was a way to express gratitude, praise, and devotion to God. In her book, "Christ's Object Lessons," White wrote, "Song is a weapon that we can always use against discouragement. As we thus open the heart to the sunlight of the Saviour's presence, we shall have a continual freshness in our religious life. Our prayers will take the form of a conversation with God as we would talk with a friend."

White also believed that music had the ability to bring people together in worship. She encouraged congregations to sing together, stating that "the voices of the singers as they blend in harmony are in perfect accord with the voices of the heavenly angels." White saw singing as a way to create unity and fellowship among believers, allowing them to worship together in spirit and truth.
