Every time someone does a Western movie, people flock to it. It’s like, we’re continually programming to people who are least likely to watch us. People in Nebraska aren’t watching things on the computer, they’re watching television. Why aren’t we programming things for them? We only program things that appeal to New York and Los Angeles and in many ways spit on the rest of the country  (Television Quotes) Most fight sequences on a television show, probably any action adventure show that you know of, if you asked them how long they probably spend, [it’s] one or two days doing the fight. Where we were spending eight days concurrently with an episode doing our fight sequences  (Television Quotes) I think back to the Modern Family pilot when we didn’t know that Julie Bowen had a spotty party girl past, but that’s something that we layered in, throughout the first season. That’s just part of the fun of series television. You get to discover these things  (Television Quotes) I think poets are supposed to be writing for television and film. I grew up in the day of early TV that was so raw and funny, and I think we’re in the next important moment of television, where it’s really telling the epic of the culture like Charles Dickens was doing in the 19th century with his serialized novels  (Television Quotes) The major difference frequently is in time. The motion picture, for example, gives you considerably more freedom of expression than does the confined thirty-minute television show. But in essence, they’re not that dissimilar  (Television Quotes) I don’t think I’ve entirely had that moment yet! There’s still so much more to be done. Professionally I am so grateful to step out into the television world with the remarkable opportunity of being on Empire  (Television Quotes) In France, it is television that pays for films to be made and I received all of my funding from TV: two television channels, government funding and distributor contribution (Wild Bunch). My films are low-budget, and not expensive [to make]  (Television Quotes) Films allow you more preparation time, keeping the higher budgets in mind. Television makes you work really fast, but maintain certain standards. Then it’s up to me to seek out the best of both worlds  (Television Quotes) I enjoy working on a series and having a long stretch of time to get to know and connect with my cast and crew. It also gives me the ability to play a character over the span of countless hours of television  (Television Quotes) I ended up with my life slanted toward television, and I just accept that. I think you play the hand the way it’s dealt, that’s all  (Television Quotes) I love the puzzled look on people’s faces when I mention I grew up telling time according to television  (Television Quotes) I’m a professional and I’ll do anything - a poetry reading, television, cinema, anything that allows me to act  (Television Quotes) In terms of acting, we go through phases of being really inspired by film and television and actors and works that we’ve read  (Television Quotes) That’s the thing about film acting and television acting. You just release yourself and do what is true for the moment, and ignore everybody and everything and all the technical razzmatazz that goes on  (Television Quotes) Cable television stations in America are now producing such smart, in-depth, non-formula, character-based dramas. Film has turned more and more into big action or cartoons  (Television Quotes) When a child is watching television, he or she is not involved in play, not socializing with other individuals, and most importantly, not receiving feedback as to the actions or consequences of his or her behavior  (Television Quotes) Sometimes it is the emotional experience of film and television that bring a cause to our hearts and stir us to action - they inform and inspire  (Television Quotes) I’m a fan of movies and television shows, and I don’t expect anything from actors and actresses, or anyone, but good work. What they do. I don’t feel like I deserve a piece of their personal life, or even what they think about the work they do.  (Television Quotes) I’d say working on television is much, much tougher than films. But television has a great connect with a live audience, which is a refreshing change for us actors.  (Television Quotes) I think it is obvious that people repeat acts that are shown on the television or the screen and I wouldn’t want to inspire any violence on anyone.  (Television Quotes) We start eating, watch television, surf the Internet, or go shopping and buy something. That gives us a rush of feeling, some adrenaline and excitement.  (Television Quotes) The ability of a television series to make adjustments is something you’ve got to take advantage of.  (Television Quotes) Like most citizens of popular and international urban centres, I don’t take advantage of the cultural opportunities. Perhaps this comes from growing up in suburbia. Home is where you eat, sleep, read, watch television and ignore your parents. It is not where you go to the ballet and then attend a heated panel discussion about it afterwards.  (Television Quotes) Television is more of a business. You can’t take as many risks, because there’s so many channels now, and the advertising’s dropping.  (Television Quotes) There is a pool of references in New York and Los Angeles that are almost exclusively drawn from the media, from the world of television and advertising.  (Television Quotes) So there was a constant flow and a thin line there between reality and television and yes, much of what I was experiencing in my real life was also what was going on in the television show to the extent that I had to take writers’ advice and from the counselors around.  (Television Quotes) Now that I work as a professional model, I advise people to stay away from any television shows. It’s a waste of your time; it’s just entertainment. It’s not the fashion that we now know.  (Television Quotes) Anyone who watches a lot of television, or listens to pop music, is familiar with a certain vision of America. If not exactly colorblind, this America is one in which different races easily interact, in which a white person might have an Asian boss, Hispanic stepson, or African-American frenemy.  (Television Quotes) After college, I funded my short films with acting roles in film and TV. I learned my craft through the great opportunities British television gave me as a director.  (Television Quotes) I wasn’t the kind of kid like Spielberg or Lucas who knew to go to film school. I didn’t know at 12 what I was going to do; it took me until I was about 23.
