Saint Augustine, a renowned theologian and philosopher, once famously said, "The purpose of all wars is peace." This statement may seem paradoxical at first glance, as wars are typically associated with violence, destruction, and chaos. However, when viewed through the lens of Augustine's teachings, it becomes clear that he was emphasizing the ultimate goal of achieving peace through the resolution of conflicts and the establishment of justice.

Augustine believed that war should only be waged as a last resort, when all other means of resolving disputes had been exhausted. He argued that the primary purpose of war should be to restore peace and order, rather than to simply conquer or dominate others.
