When I was a kid, we had to rely on our imaginations for entertainment. This was especially true for me when it came to reading books by Terry Brooks. His fantasy novels, such as the Shannara series, were a gateway to a world of magic, adventure, and wonder that captivated my young mind.

Growing up in a time before smartphones, tablets, and streaming services, my siblings and I had to find ways to entertain ourselves that didn't involve screens. We would spend hours playing outside, building forts, and creating our own stories and characters. But when the weather was bad or we were stuck inside, books were our escape.

I remember the first time I picked up a Terry Brooks novel. The cover art alone was enough to draw me in, with its fantastical landscapes and mysterious creatures.
