Doris Lessing, a renowned British-Zimbabwean author, was known for her strong anti-colonialist views and her efforts to challenge the oppressive systems of the British Empire. Born in Iran and raised in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), Lessing was deeply affected by the injustices she witnessed in her homeland and dedicated much of her writing to exposing and critiquing the colonial legacy.
